Walkthrough
Nier’s Village
| 1 | Leave the room and go down to the first floor. Examine the wall to get herbs and 100G. |

| 2 | Exit the house and talk to Devola by the fountain. Afterwards, go to the library to meet Popola. Avoid going into the water or you will drown. |
| 3 | Follow the marked destination on your map by pressing the Select button to reach the library. |
| 4 | Get the Northern Plains Map from Popola and accept her request to get mutton x3 and herbs x3. Note that you may already have the herbs Popola needs at this point so you will only need to get the mutton x3. |
| 5 | You can talk to Yonah before leaving the library for some dialogue. |
| 6 | Exit the library and watch the cutscene. |
| 7 | Go to the Northern Plains by passing through the Northern Gate. |
Northern Plains
| 1 | Kill some sheep and harvest Mutton from them. |

| 2 | Gather some medicinal herbs from the gathering points (marked as glowing spots on the ground). |
| 3 | Return to the village and defeat the shades that appear. |
Nier’s Village (Return)
| 1 | Go to the shopping district and give the mutton to the item shopkeeper. |

| 2 | Get 600G. |
| 3 | If you do not have the 3 herbs that Popola requested, you can simply buy them from the item shop before leaving. |
| 4 | Go to the library and give the herbs to Popola. |
| 5 | Head back to your house and go upstairs. Talk to Yonah to progress to the next day. |
| 6 | Talk to Yonah again and head to the library. Talk to Popola and go to the Northern Plains again. |
Northern Plains (Return)
| 1 | Defeat the shades near the bridge. |

Nier’s Village (2nd Return)
| 1 | Head to the library again and talk to Popola. You will also get 1000G. |

| 2 | Return home and go upstairs. Check Yonah’s bed. |

| 4 | Head to the Eastern Gate and pick up Yonah’s Ribbon. |
| 5 | Travel to the Lost Shrine. |
Strategy
Killing the Sheep.
It is recommended to attack the sheep from either the front or the side. They will retaliate with a kick if you approach them from behind. While the sheep do not do a lot of damage, it can be time consuming and frustrating if you get hit.
Sheep Whisperer Trophy
Note that the Sheep Whisperer trophy is unlocked by killing 100 sheep. Try to get the achievement at any time before starting the second story route (clearing the first half of the game and viewing Ending A). This is because sheep will disappear from the plains during the entirety of the second playthrough. The only way to encounter sheep again is to go into the 15 Nightmares optional dungeons.
Gather items before proceeding to the Lost Shrine.
Be sure to gather any items you may need from gathering points in the Northern Plains when Popola sends you to kill some shades. The next time you return, the area will be populated by many shades, making gathering items more inconvenient than before.
