Tips and Tricks: Raid Mode

Raid Mode is a game mode in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5] is similar to Contend and Hold mode save for a few mechanics. One mechanic is that there are two distinguished teams: the defender and the attacker. The attacker are the ones who will perform the raid on the warehouse. Defenders must prevent the attackers from stealing any cargo within a certain time limit. The object of Raid Mode is to steal more than the attacker within the specific amount of time.

To win Raid Mode, here are some tips and tricks to guarantee victory:

Defenders: Assign certain roles

There are certain roles that defenders should take especially when defending the cargo. In Raid Mode, the best thing players can do is contest the area and camp. As the team camps there, assign weapons. However, send one scout to gather as much weapons as they can. In doing so, this allows the scout to a) find out where the attackers are coming from, b) constantly replenish weapons for the team, and c) finding paths that the team can later take while looking for weapons.

Attackers: Focus Fire Strategy

Focus Firing (or “FF”) has players dealing damage on a single player. The Focus Fire often focuses on the player who is of the highest threat. However, this tactic may be a gamble because some players may look like skill fodder but are actually not. But having the strategy of Focus Firing can wipe out enemies easily. In a sense, players perform a “Team Peel” in which they take out enemies who are the biggest threat to lessen the incoming pressure.

Defenders: Peel

Peel is a term used in combat when players remove the pressure from a single player. For example, if the enemy is focusing down on one of your allies, the players should immediately draw away their fire. This especially works when the enemy team knows which of the players in the team is of the “highest threat”.

Attackers: Take note of one’s ammo

Ammo often runs out. It’s not an infinite amount where players can fire aimlessly. Entering a fray without bullets will not only leave the player vulnerable to getting shot at. It also shows the defenders that one is not a threat. While this is also an advantage, it can be a disadvantage as some players prefer taking the one with the lowest threat level down first due to the thought of them being an “easy kill”.
