3 | Ribbon | The lesser version of the Royal Ribbon has 30% resistance against all elemental damage. Ribbon is nevertheless among the best equipment in the game. Its physical defense however is only half of that offered by Cosmic Belt+. |
Cosmic Chain | Cosmic Chain reduces incoming elemental damage (except Dark) by 20%. While inferior to Ribbon in this regard, it has better physical defense. | |

Best Armor Details
Royal Ribbon
Royal Ribbon grants 40% resistance to all elemental damage. An exceptional piece of armor, wearing it essentially lets you do away with worrying about what type of armor you should have on to reduce incoming damage from different types of enemies.
If you want something with more physical defense, you can use Cosmic Belt+

Cosmic Belt+
The Cosmic Belt+ is the best piece of armor in terms of physical defense but offers only 10% resistance against all types of elemental damage. If you are looking to up your elemental protection, try using a different piece of armor.

Obtained as a reward by shooting 65 Lucky Emblems.
Ribbon
A lesser version of Royal Ribbon, though still an incredible piece of armor to use, Ribbon is 10% short of elemental resistances compared to its more powerful counterpart. You could however wear both Ribbon and Royal Ribbon to stack up your elemental protection to very high levels.
Do note that Ribbon offers mediocre physical defense, so you are better off using something like Cosmic Chain+ if you have more concerns in the non-elemental damage department.

Obtained as a reward by shooting 30 Lucky Emblems.
Cosmic Chain
While it is easy to dismiss Cosmic Chain as possibly a lesser version of Cosmic Belt, this is not the case. While Cosmic Chain has just one less physical defense compared to Cosmic Belt, it does feature better elemental resistances.
Use the two pieces of armor together to gain high physical protection and a decent amount of elemental resistance. This combination easily outclasses the physical defense provided by Royal Ribbon.

How to Obtain Cosmic Chain
Obtained as a reward in Collector’s Goals (Get 55 Kinds of Synthetic Materials) or by clearing the Battle Portal in San Fransokyo.
Buster Band+
Essentially a lesser version of Cosmic Chain, Buster Band+ has the same physical defense value but with lower elemental resistances. It is also obtained slightly earlier than Cosmic Chain, making it an ideal choice until you are able to upgrade to the superior armor.

Acrisius+
Acrisius+ has lower physical defense compared to Buster Band+, though has better elemental resistances. Decide whether you prefer to cut physical or elemental damage when choosing between the two.

So… I have been playing for awhile and I think there is a bug. I have both ribbon and royal ribbon. I equip both thinking I will get 70% resistance and I can handle the physical defense with items.
I don’t get that. It caps out at 58% and goes no further. I tried unequipped both but I still get 58% when I put them back on.
I am unsure if it’s just part of the game to keep people from tanking all magic or something.
Yes. The percentages add on top of each other in such a way that if you keep stacking them you can’t get to 100%. For example if you had 3 grand ribbons you would have 40% then 40% of that which is just 56% total then another 40 would bring you too.. you get the picture
