Dah Kaso Shrine Walkthrough – Minor Test of Strength
Unlike the other shrines, Dah Kaso shrine serves as a combat test rather than a puzzle. When you enter, a large arena opens up with several pillars. Look in the middle and a Guardian Scout emerges with a spear in hand. With that, you only have one option: destroy it with whatever you have.
While going through the first phase, it’s going to scuttle around for a bit. After scuttling around, it’ll charge and try to stab you with a spear. Sidestep to dodge; dodging backwards will keep you in its range. After it takes a few hits, the Guardian jumps backwards and extends itself. While it’s doing that, find cover behind a pillar. As the guardian spins around with its spear, the pillar interrupts it and stuns it. While stunned, hit it with everything you have.
When it’s at 50% health, it’ll change tactics. While it will still try to stab you, it will now jump back to fire a laser beam in large circles around it. When the lasers finish up, it creates a large updraft area. Grab the updraft and use the Paraglider to rise. While up in the air, shoot its eye out to stun it. If you don’t hit the eye, you’ll get singed. So be careful.
When the Guardian’s health is at 25%, it turns blue. This means you’re at the last phase. Now, it stands still and builds up energy while targeting you. Its tactics now become similar to that of the larger Guardian. When it builds enough energy, it will release it in 3-4 short blasts. But these blasts can deal a lot of damage. Due to it blasting you all the time, the pillars won’t help and neither will shooting its eye. Instead, sprint and dodge the blasts. When he’s done, close the distance or fire at a range. While going close range is risky, you can still run circles around the guardian and hug him. Yes, you can still hug him with your sword.
After defeating your opponent, the doors open. This allows you to grab the opponent’s Guardian Spear. Make your way to the next room to grab a chest with an Ancient Core. When you’re finished looting, talk to Monk Dah Kaso to grab your Spirit Orb.
