Great Fairy Fountains are locations where a Great Fairy inhabits in the Kingdom of Hyrule. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, their appearances are quite rare, but when found, they provide the hero with special Armor enhancements for a fee.
Great Fairy Fountain
A Great Fairy nestles in a large orange flower. Normally, pink Fairies surround the perimeter of these flowers. Finding one however requires shelling out some Rupees to reveal themselves.
Great Fairies charge a certain amount of money depending on the time they were found, this amount gradually increases as you find more Great Fairies, so make sure to have some cash on hand.
By allowing one to form a covenant with you – through the hero’s small donation – it emerges from its home and promises to enhance your Armor. By allowing the Great Fairy to temper the chosen Armor, it receives some boosts not only in Defensive prowess, but also receive additional properties. An Enhanced Armor will be indicated with a Star next to it.
The stars will add up for each time you have them enhance the Armor, thus when an Armor has more stars, it is proof that it has been subjected to several enhancements over time.
