Ketoh Wawai Shrine Walkthrough [The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild]

This page contains a detailed guide on how to complete the Ketoh Wawai Shrine, including locations, enemies, items and strategy.

Ketoh Wawai Shrine Walkthrough

Ketoh Wawai Shrine is hidden deep in the Thyphlo Ruins north of the Great Hyrule Forest. You’ll need to complete a shrine quest to access it.

The shrine quest will activate upon entering Thyphlo Ruins. The quest requires you venture into complete darkness, so a carrying a torch is important. You can bring one yourself or just grab one in the area and set it ablaze. You can light it with the lanterns. If you want to make your own, you’ll need a flint, red Chuchu jelly or a fire-based weapon.

If you’ve managed to complete the Divine Beast Vah Rudania dungeon, using Daruk’s protection (by blocking) will radiate an aura that sort of acts like a torch. You can even try to use Urobosa’s Fury if you’ve finished the Divine Beast Vah Naboris dungeon.

Note that you can light more torches as you go further. To help in navigating, use the bird statues (their beak) to point you to the next direction.

As you approach the pedestal, you’ll need to defeat a Hinox. The fact that it is dark makes for a very interesting battle as well. Try to light all the torches to make the fight a bit easier to move around in. When you’ve killed the Hinox, get the orb from it and put it in the pedestal.
