A recurring enemy in The Legend of Zelda games, the Lizalfos seems to have drawn inspiration from the Geru, another reptilian creature from previous installments. In the Breath of the Wild, they now possess a more sophisticated and chameleon-esque design. A horn grows from between the tip of the snout and the ridges on the eyes. It also wears a crude armor which emphasizes the scales on its back. The tail curls up into a ball.

Strategy
Traditional ones inhabit the groves. The Lizalfos are menacing enemies that are quite durable with around 50 HP. They either wield the Lizal Spears or the Bows. For the melee variant, keep an eye on its arm guard as it will indicate which way it’s going to strike thus it’s best to strafe to the side, then pick on the exposed spot to punish them.
The Zonai Ruins Lizalfos differ from the default form as their horns are endowed with electric power, allowing them to fire off Electric endowed arrows and create an Electric Field. Take them on preferably with a Ranged weapon to avoid coming into contact with the shock. Whereas those that inhabit the tundra region possess the ice element, allowing them to spew ice crystals to passersby.
Generally, they are nimble. They take off then immediately steps back, this makes melee attacks inefficient against them. They dive using assaults launched from the air, which can be dealt with by a side hop. The best approach is to allow them to draw near then counter their aggression.
The Horn is a weak point that is susceptible to being punished. By striking it with an Arrow, it will cause the Lizalfos to fall to thee ground. When this is used against an Electric Lizalfos, it will summon a blast. Using a multi-hit bow is effective to severely damage the horn with several blows. This leaves it exposed to a combo.
Have any tips on how to defeat the lizalfoes at Zora’s Domain. They use shock arrows that always kill me.
what about gold lizalfos
Although some lizalfoses have lots of health for a beginner, if you know your controls you can basically beat them unless you have sucky weapons.
Lizalfos tail can be dropped by black AND Blue lizalfos.
