Shora Hah Shrine Walkthrough [The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild]

This page contains a detailed guide on how to complete the Shora Hah Shrine, including locations, enemies, items and strategy.

Shora Hah Shrine Walkthrough

Shora Hah Shrine is found in the northwest corner of Darunia Lake. It is to the north of Goron City.

You can use mine cart found on the edge of the lava lake to reach the shrine. It is located a short distance to the northeast of Goron City. Once there, hop on the cart. Then, you need to drop a round bomb on the receptacle you will find at the back.

Once you detonate the bomb, you will gain speed to ride through the rails. Just do this when you feel like the cart is slowing down again, though be careful as too much may send you into the lava.

Head inside the shrine. Once there, note the spiked metal block and raise it using Magnesis to walk under it. When you get to the other side, turn left and position the two smaller metal blocks to create stones that you can step on to reach the chest. Afterwards, adjust them to allow you to cross to the blue lantern nearby. You’ll then need to get the torch and light it with the blue flame there.

Go back to the lantern in the middle and light it with the blue flame. Then, head for the lantern past the wall-mounted fountains to operate the elevator. You need to walk under the two fountains on your right. Just remember to hold down the Y button to hold the torch low.

Next, set your arrow alight with the blue flame before shooting in the direction of the lantern in the elevator. A platform will be activated near the central lantern that allows you to get to the floor switch.

When you step on the floor switch, use Magnesis on a spiked boulder that will immediately come your way. Lift it up and drop it in the lava. Then, go up the ramp and engage the Guardian Scout guarding the next platform. Once you’ve defeated it, collect the treasures in the two chests. Afterwards, set your arrow alight again with the blue flame on the elevator and light the lantern in the area the Guardian Scout was guarding. This will raise the gate to the next area.

As you come to the next area, set the first lantern ablaze. Then, light your arrow with a blue flame and align your shot so that it goes through the next two lanterns simultaneously. Afterwards, light your torch and head to the next area.

In the next area, light the lantern there, then again with the remaining ones as you did in the last area. You will activate an updraft to cross the gap. When you get to the second moving platform, stop and light the lantern on the right on the next large platform by shooting it with an arrow. Then, use the Paraglider and hover to that platform. Light the left-hand lantern using the torch.

Use Stasis on the water fountain. Then, take out Magnesis and use it to place the block with the lantern that was just lit to the far end. Then, use the updraft to get to the chest behind the pillar (on the right). Use Magnesis again and get the other chest near the lantern.

Light your arrow again. Then, you’ll need to shoot it at the leaves along the next platform that descends on the ramp. You’ll kill the Guardian Scouts there easily. Before proceeding, light your torch again and head to the last area.

Set the lone lantern ablaze using the torch. Then, open the chest nearby and light the torch again. You’ll need to perform a circular charged strike in the center of the circle surrounded by the lanterns. When you’ve succeeded in lighting them all, you’ll activate the way that leads to the altar.

After completing the shrine quest, you’ll obtain a Spirit Orb.

  1. You don’t need the mine cart to reach this shrine (didn’t even know there was one). You can fly there with your glider, hang from the rock above the shrine. Now let go and open your glider again, straight into the shrine.

To reach the first chest, you can also align the metal blocks in the centre, walk up to the second lantern (grab the torch) and glide down to the chest. Now, glide back to the lower platform and walk up to the lantern again. Easier and takes less time, I think.

Thanks for the guide, I figured this one required arrows. Too bad I ran out of normal arrows and now I’m trying to set the third lantern on fire by throwing the torch… Don’t have any other wooden weapons on me and the other arrows don’t catch on blue fire. Well, let’s try again. 🙂
