Link’s trusty legendary steed Epona returns as an obtainable amiibo. To obtain Epona, the game requires the Smash Bros. Series Link Amiibo. When paired with the NFC Reader for the first time, the Smash Bros Series Link makes the beloved mount available in game.
However, there is something special about this summoned mount. For one, it differs from regular Wild mounts in that this does not require taming. To preserve Epona, make sure to summon near the Stable such as the Great Plateau to avoid losing it along the way. Head for the Stable to register your mount. It comes with its own saddle and bridle designs. Although with all of these accounted for, keep in mind that you cannot rename Epona.
