Ta’loh Naeg Shrine Walkthrough – Ta’loh Naeg’s Teaching

Ta’loh Naeg Shrine is a little more different. While the others challenge how you to solve a puzzle, this shrine serves more as  a tutorial. In case you hadn’t learned the crucial moves, Ta’loh Naeg shrine can teach you the basics. If you don’t have a sword and shield, loot the two nearby chests. Inside it, there’s an Eightfold Blade and a Shield of the Mind’s Eye.

When you enter the arena, a Guardian Scout appears wielding a single blade. The first thing Monk Ta’log Naeg teaches you is the art of side dodging. Get close to the guardian. When it strikes, move left or right. Or, you can also tap jump to dodge. After that, create a slowdown opportunity to attack back with a flurry strike.

After that, time to backflip. Like the side dodge, the backflip has a similar button sequence. Except, hold backwards while jumping when there’s an incoming attack. Again, do it correctly and you’ll perform a flurry attack.

While you’re done with that, the next is to learn how to parry. Press A right before the attack lands and slam your shield into the enemy’s attack. Once performed, it stuns the enemy and disarms them in the process.

Finally, the monk asks you to charge your weapon. Hold Y until fully charged and release a large burst attack. When doing so, you destroy the Guardian Scout.

With all the trials completed, head to the final room. Inside the final room, collect the Opal from the chest before speaking to Monk Ta’loh Naeg for your Spirit Orb.
