Progress in the Demo Carries Over to the Full Game on Release

Live A Live Remake (Live A Live 2022 HD-2D Remaster), a remake of the role-playing video game released exclusively in Japan by Square in 1994 for the Super Famicom, was initially released last July 22, 2022, and is now set for launch on April 27, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.

Ahead of the game’s release, a playable demo of the upcoming title was made available for download on the Nintendo e-Shop with progress confirmed to carry over to the full version when it comes out.

Four Playable Chapters

The Live A Live Remake demo version consists of three of the game’s eight-story chapters. Those who download the demo will be able to play through Imperial China, Twilight of Edo, Wild West, and The Distant Future episodes to get a hands-on preview of the remake’s new features.

Imperial China (Nintendo Switch only)

The Imperial China chapter is set in ancient China with players taking control of the aging kung fu master, the Earthen Heat Shifu. After choosing three disciples to pass on his teachings, a rival school attacks and kills two of his students. The old master then sets out with his only surviving apprentice to defeat the rival school and those responsible for the murder of his disciples.

Twilight of Edo Japan (All Platforms and Systems)

The Twilight of Edo chapter takes place in feudal Japan and follows the tale of Oboromaru, a ninja on a mission to rescue an important political figure held captive by a daimyo bent on conquest. Oboromaru must infiltrate the daimyo’s fortress guarded by demonic forces summoned to do the warlord’s bidding.

The Wild West (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam only)

The Wild West is set during the American frontier. A wandering gunman known as Sundown Kid partners with his old rival Mad Dog to save a town from a powerful gang oppressing the people. This group of bandits is led by O. Dio and after defeating them, Sundown must decide the fate of the final duel between Mad Dog and him.

The Distant Future (All Platforms and Systems)

Cube, a maintenance robot in the Distant Future chapter, goes on to investigate an incident involving an escaped Behemoth monster being transported to Earth. The beast breaks out aboard the cargo ship and kills the crew amid of string of strange malfunctioning equipment.
