Walkthrough and Guide for Prehistory Chapter: The First in Live A Live Remake
Prehistory is the first time period featured as a chapter in Live A Live Remake (Live A Live 2022 HD-2D Remaster) which follows the story of Pogo, a young cave-dwelling boy who is exiled from his tribe after an unlikely encounter with a girl named Bel.

Prehistory Walkthrough
Pogo’s Cave Village
| 1 | Watch the opening cutscene. Then, enter the name of the main character (Pogo is the default name). |

| 2 | Wake up Gori sleeping next to you. Then, get Big Stick x1 from the storage box on the left. |
| 3 | Exit your room. A caveman will be standing outside before running away. |
| 4 | In the hall, go inside the far right room and approach the three cavemen. When they run away, get Big Stick x1 from the storage box on the north wall and the Bone x1 from the shelf next to it. |
| 5 | Exit the room and go inside the one in the middle of the hall. Check the storage boxes to get Hard Rock x1, Big Stick, and Hide x1. If you want, you can take the time to get as many items as you can in this room. Talk to the caveman running around the room and another will enter. Do this until you are able to fill the room with many cavemen. Then, stand in front of the door and talk to the caveman entering the room. Once you talk to the 20th caveman, you will get Big Stick x1, Bone x1, Beast Horn x1, Beat Fang x1, Hide x1, Tough Hide x1, and Hard Rock x1. To repeat the process, just talk to another caveman after talking to the 20th one. This will cause 19 of the cavemen to run out of the room. Repeat the method to gather as many items as you want. |
| 6 | Afterwards, exit the room to return to the hall. Then, head to the exit at the far left (opposite Pogo’s room). |
| 7 | In the large common area, you can go to the room to the southwest to get some items from the Caveman Craftsman by trading materials with him. While you are here, it is recommended to get a Stone Knife (Hard Rock + Bone). Then, get Smoulder Spear (Stone Knife + Big Stick) for Pogo. If you can, make three Gigigaga Wakka (Bone + Beast Horn) and three Beast Hood (Hide + Bone). Equip these on Pogo and Gori (the last pieces are for the third character). | 8 | Leave the craftsman’s quarters and head to the elder’s room to the northwest. Get Big Stick x1 from the storage box and talk to the elder. |
| 9 | Follow the elder outside and to the room to the north (the one that was blocked y the caveman before). |
| 10 | Follow the straight path to the elder and talk to him again. |
| 11 | Watch the tutorial on how to hunt beasts. Then, talk to the elder again. Use Pogo’s special ability (Y) to track down and defeat three beasts using Bash Bash. You will get Meaty Bone x1 for each enemy defeated. |
| 12 | Talk to the elder afterwards. When the elder leaves, feel free to grind a few levels or farm some Meaty Bone in the area if you want. |
| 13 | Return to your room and sleep. |
| 14 | At night, leave your room and head back to the large common room. Go inside the elder’s quarters and enter his bedroom to get Stone Knife x1 and Leather Cord x1. |
| 15 | Exit the elder’s quarters and head to the food storage room to the northeast. |
| 16 | Wake Gori up and pick up Bone x1. Then, exit and enter the room again. Afterwards, use Y to catch the scent of flowers near the haystacks. Then, interact with the haystack near the meat (pick it up to get Meaty Bone x1) several times and a person will jump out. Approach the furthest haystack to the right near the wall. Keep examining the haystacks until one moves to the east side of the area. |
| 17 | Approach the haystack and put a Meaty Bone x1 in front of it. Leave the room again and re-enter. |
| 18 | Approach the haystack again and Bel will join your party. |
| 19 | Talk to Gori. Then, equip Bel with better gear (or use Optimize). |
| 20 | Return to your room and move the sleeping caveman. When he wakes up and causes you to hide, return to the food storage and grab one of the haystacks to cover Bel with. |
| 21 | Head back to your room and move the sleeping caveman again. Enter your room and approach the beds. |
| 22 | When you wake up, approach the haystack in the corner. Watch the cutscene. |
| 23 | Afterwards, give Bel a Meaty Bone. Then, head back into the hunting grounds and grind some levels and get some Meaty Bones. It is recommended for Pogo to be at least level 6 at this point in the story. |
| 24 | Stop by the Craftsman as well and make Wild Dress for Bel (Hide + Leather Cord). |
| 25 | To advance the story, talk to the caveman guarding the north passage (the connecting the village common area and the hunting grounds). |
| 26 | Watch the cutscene. Afterwards, follow the invading tribe by going to the common area. Watch another cutscene. |
| 27 | Then, head into the common area again and interact with the stone cars in front of you. Use it to ram into the invading tribe and their captain. |
| 28 | Defeat the Kuu tribe warriors using Pogo’s Boom Boom (you should have gotten this after reaching level 6) and Bel’s Bonk Bonk. Have Gori use normal attacks. Then, defeat Zaki (the captain of the Kuu tribe). He hits hard so use Meaty Bone to heal up if you need to. |

Wilderness 1
| 1 | Once you have been exiled from the tribe, you are free to grind some levels (especially for Bel) in the wilderness. Try to get her to level 3 to learn Fure Fure, a useful healing skill. |

| 2 | If you can, take the time to farm some materials, especially Hide here as well. You will need it to make Leather Cord which is used for some of good weapons and armor in the game (Buzzing Knife, Swish Whip, Wild Bag, Clack Case, and Fang Necklace). There is a Caveman Craftsman to the northwest of the area here that you talk to trade items. |
| 3 | Your next destination is the cave to the northeast. Before heading there, grind some levels until Bel learns Lu Lu (level 7). |
| 4 | Go inside the cave and watch the cutscenes. |
Cave 1
| 1 | Defeat Zaki. Just use Boom Boom and heal with Meaty Bone to defeat him. |

| 2 | Head back to the cave’s entrance to have Gori rejoin the party. Then, approach the spot where Zaki retreated to let Gori help you open it. |
| 3 | Watch the cutscenes in the next area. |
| 4 | In the next area, use Pogo’s special ability to sniff out the exit (indicated by Zaki’s scent). The crocodile enemies here are quite strong so do not hesitate to flee if you run into them. |
| 5 | Back at the bonfire spot, head back to the area where you fell from and jump over the hole. Head to the exit to reach a new area. |
Wilderness 2
| 1 | Your next objective is to head to the cave to the north. From this point, you may want to hunt some Mammoths to get some Tough Hide to craft Wild Bag for Bel, Wild Armor for Pogo, Ooh Masks, and Bang Bang Drums. Use the item to trade with the Craftsman to the west. |

| 2 | Head north to the next cave and watch the cutscene by the outpost. Afterwards, head right and go north for another cutscene by the overlook. |
| 3 | Afterwards, head back to the outpost by going south from the overlook. Gori will get excited over some female gorillas and knock down the guards. Follow him to the entrance of the cave and go inside. |
Cave 2
| 1 | Inside the cave, get Stone Knife x1, Hide x1, and Hard Rock x1 from the storage boxes and shelf. |

| 2 | Then, talk to Gori several times to snap him out of his state. |
| 3 | Head to the exit to the right. In the next area, go in the room directly north and check the storage box and shelf to get Big Stick x1 and Bone x1. |
| 4 | Then, leave the room and enter the next room to the right. |
| 5 | Follow the straight path going north and take out the Kuu warriors along the way. Then, take the exit to the north. |
| 6 | This area has a door marked by the skull just north so only go inside if you want to face the final boss of this chapter. Otherwise, you can turn back and do some side quests first. |
Side Quests
| 1 | Head back all the way to the entrance of Cave 1 (you will see a funny cutscene by the hole you fell into from before). |

| 2 | Exit the cave from the entrance and head from the wilderness area 1 again, go southwest to an overlook. |
| 3 | You should come to a rock that looks like a head. Approach it and press A 100 times until you hear a strange sound. This will cause a door of a cave to open. |
| 4 | Head down the overlook and go left to find the newly-opened cave. Go inside to find a tablet inside. Offer Bone x1 to get Basic Rock (a useful accessory that grants IQ +50). |
| 5 | Leave the area. Then head right to the open field (around the left of the overlook where you found the rock that looks like a head) and sniff around to find the King Mammoth. |
| 6 | It is recommended to be at least level 11 before taking on this boss.
Recommended equipment for this fight are Ooh Mask, Buzzing Knife, Bang Bang Drum, Clack Case, Gigigaga Wakka, Nose Ornament x4, and the Basic Rock accessory. Try to bring at least 5 Giant Meaty Bone to heal during the fight. When the fight begins, have Pogo use Gui Gui to stun King Mammoth, preventing it from moving for 1 turn. Then, wail focus on damaging the boss while Gori uses Uki to poison the tiles that the boss standing on. When you get hit, use Giant Meaty Bones immediately to recover to full HP. Once you have defeated King Mammoth, it will drop the King Fang x1 and Cola Bottle x1, both of which will be useful during the final chapter. |
Cave 2 Revisited (Final Boss)
| 1 | When you are ready to take on the final boss, head back to the cave and all the way to the skull door. |

| 2 | Watch the cutscene and prepare to battle Zaki again. Simply lower his health and the fight will end. |
| 3 | Prepare to battle O-DI-O (chapter final boss). |
| 4 | Just have Bel use Lu Lu to damage the boss and have the rest of the party heal with Giant Meat Bones. Zaki will also help you take down the O-DI-O, allowing you to easily burst down the chapter’s final boss. |
| 5 | Watch the ending. |
