Best Chapters to Start in Live A Live Remake?
As with the original Live A Live released in 1994 on the Super Famicon, Live A Live Remake (Live A Live 2022 HD-2D Remaster) allows you to play through and explore any of the initial character scenarios in the game. But which chapter should you start with?
The chapter you play first does not have any effect throughout the game.
Keep in mind that it does not really matter which chapter you choose to play at the start of the game. You will not be locked out of any missable features such as obtainable characters, items, and other features for not playing through the game in a specific order. Any permanent events or missable content are strictly within each chapter’s scenario as well as during the game’s final episode.

Chapters For New Players
Here are the recommended chapters for beginners:
Option 1: Distant Future chapter (Cube scenario)
The Distant Future chapter (Cube’s scenario), meanwhile, has a very engaging story but not as much combat as the two other episodes in the demo.

Option 2: Imperial China Chapter (Earthen Heart Shifu scenario)
Recommended for Players Who Progressed Through the Demo
For players who downloaded and progressed through the playable demo of Live A Live Remake, it is recommended to continue the Imperial China chapter (Earthen Heart Shifu’s scenario). Similar to the Prehistory episode, this scenario has a fair balance of battles and story.

Chapters For Experienced Players
Here are the recommended chapters for experienced players:
Option 1: Prehistory Chapter (Pogo scenario)
For experienced and returning players, it is recommended to choose the Prehistory chapter (Pogo’s scenario) at the start. This episode has a good amount of exploration and combat, allowing returning to get familiar with the game’s basic mechanics again. Since Pogo’s scenario is also the first to take place chronologically, it may be a good starting chapter from a narrative standpoint as well.

Option 2: Twilight of Edo Japan chapter (Oboromaru scenario)
The Twilight of Edo chapter (Oboromaru’s scenario) features some very specific requirements for obtaining the best equipment and outcome for the chapter’s main character, including recruiting an optional character and defeating two secret super bosses which may be too tedious for a first run of the game (though these are entirely optional).

Despite these reasons, we still suggest that you just choose the chapter you liked the most based on your preferences or which episode in the demo you found to be the most fun or interesting.
