This section contains the Kingdom Hearts character list for Kingdom Hearts HD: Dream Drop Distance (K3DHD).

Sora

Sora is the main protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series. A Keyblade wielder,  he has rescued the
worlds from peril more than once. In Dream Drop Distance, the boy delves into the realm of sleep, to master his Keyblade.

However, things don’t go as planned, for a version of his nemesis, Master Xenahort, sneaks into his Master Exam, and plans for his doom.

 

Riku

Another keyblade warrior, Riku wields both light and dark, walking a path called “Twilight.” He fights using light and dark,  balancing both. Riku joins Sora in his Mark of Mastery Exam, in order to become a Keyblade Master.

To complicate things is a younger version of Master Xenahort, who sends  Riku faces various demons from the past in order to protect Sora from their old foe, Xenahort.

 

King Mickey

The reigning king of Disney Castle. Furthermore, he wields a keyblade as well. He helped the party throughout their previous adventures as well as battled Riku’s personal demons with him.

After finding out Xenahort’s resurgence, Mickey comes once again to their aid.

 

Yen Sid

Once a Keyblade Master, Yen Sid aided Sora in the boy’s previous conflicts. He had taken King Mickey as his apprentice long ago, and predicted that their foe, Xenahort might come back.

And he was right.

As Sora and Riku took their Mark of Mastery Exams, which charged them to awake the sleeping worlds, Xenahort returns in his younger form, complicating things for the two.

Lea

An ex-heartless, he came back as a normal being, though retaining the memories of his Nobody form, Axel in his tenure as part of the nefarious Organization.

Lea travels to Yen Sid with a handful of questions waiting to be answered.

 

Young Master Xehanort

A malevolent and mysterious person when they first meet, this black-robed foe is actually a version of Master Xenahort, an old foe of the Keyblade wielders.

It is revealed that Xenahort is trying to round up all other incarnations of himself in order to fulfill some unfathomable purpose. This is revealed more clearly in the game.
