One of the staple enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Ganon commands a battalion of these creatures, sending them across the Kingdom of Hyrule. Their appearance resemble mutant warthogs capable of using a myriad of weapons. Spotting a lone Bokoblin, it is often seen chasing after a Wild Boar. Having close ties with a group, their settlements consist of a compact watchtower, operated by one of the members to signal whenever there’s an impending threat.

Strategy

The combat tactic normally depends on the color of the Bokoblin in question. A red one wields primitive Boko Clubs or could opt to specialize in Boko Bows, blue ones have more complex weapons such as Soldier’s Broadswords and Spiked Boko Shields making them more formidable than their scarlet brethren.

Some Bokoblins are weaponless and depend on their wrists by swiping or tossing nearby objects such as rocks. Regardless if the Bokoblin is unarmed or has a melee weapon, watch closely when it’s about to attack then either close in to duck under its swipe or do a back flip to evade its melee swing.

Be wary of battling a group settled in a camp as they also interact with fire, setting their wooden weapons aflame before joining the fray.

  1. Nice guide, but I keep dying from blue bokoblins, and your guide doesn’t state how to beat those. Do bombs work well?
