Death Mountain’s Secret Side Quest Walkthrough [The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild]

Death Mountain’s Secret

To begin the Death Mountain’s Secret side quest, speak to a young Goron named Dugby who is swimming in the Goron Hot Springs (southeast of Goron City) during the day. He will tell you almost unintelligibly that there is a hidden treasure chest somewhere between Goron Hot Springs and the Bridge of Eldin. Also, if you speak to him while he is sleeping, he will give you another clue.

Go to the top of the middle lava waterfall (near the bridge of Eldin) and you will find some breakable rocks at the small rock peak in the area. Break the rocks and you will find a treasure chest containing a Drillshaft. Talk to Dugby again after opening the chest to complete the side quest.

  1. Btw – anyone curious as to why the little goron isn’t waking up after finding the stick – he wakes up at 8am. Just wait till then to show it to him.

  2. I found the area. I bombed the rocks but the drill shaft showed up immediately without a treasure chest…. hmmm now it won’t complete the mish. Skyrim all over again

  3. Thanks for the walkthrough. Anyone who has spent 30 seconds wandering the area will know exactly which lava fall you’re referring to… there is only one set of three falls between Eldin bridge and the hot springs, hence “the middle.” The other people commenting here couldn’t find their way out of a cardboard box. Completely clueless cretins.

  4. You will find absolutely a good deal of details like that to take into consideration. Which is an incredible point to bring up. I give the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly you will find questions like the one you bring up where essentially the most critical factor might be working in honest excellent faith. I don?t know if ideal practices have emerged about items like that, but I’m sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls really feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

  5. So if this has so many bad walk throughs that everyone bitches about, why do they keep coming to the site in the first fucking place. I love how so many people expect to be fed answers with a silver spoon. News flash, not everyone is perfect. Even the brat in game gives you terrible advice and clues. But it’s a side quest not a super Easter egg secret. So it’s designed for you to eventually find it on your own. Yet only two comments seem to not be “I can’t read mini maps so I’m going to bitch and moan until someone plays the game and gets it done for me.” I’m just saying, it really bothers me that people are such big losers that they have to look up how to do a quest then bitch because they don’t like someone’s vague answer to a vague quest’s vague clue. So listen, if a dumbbell like me can read the mini map in the pic so can you.

  6. I don’t know what everyone’s complaining about. I found it first try by looking at the minimap and using the clues. Just climb up and look for the groove in the rocks like in the map on screen.

  7. Thanks for this amazingly unhelpful “walkthrough.” I realize there are a lot of quests in this game, but is a screenshot of where its at on the map really so hard?
