Strategy
They are ancient machines which sport high health and launch energy beams that take about 6 hearts(♥) worth of damage. When near Link, it will attempt to move away to get a good shot in firing their laser attacks.
There are two variants of the Guardian enemy one are smaller which dwell in Shrines, while others roam around the Kingdom of Hyrule near the Great Plateau.
If timed precisely, Link can deflect the laser attack of the small guardian using the Shield as soon as it is about to land. This gets tricky when the gap between Link and the Guardian is minimal. For longer distances, it might be easier to trace the movement of the beam, but for shorter ones, you should perform the deflect when the blue bolt of energy begins to concentrate near the machine’s ocular.
Melee weapons may be used at your disposal, however do note that their durability weakens significantly against these formidable opponents. Ranged Weapons such as Bows provide a safer approach if you do not feel confident to perform the deflects. By stocking up on Shock Arrows, it will inflict Electric bolts that nullifies the Guardian’s energy beam for a duration. Another option is to reload with Ancient Arrows to strike severe damage.
For certain Guardians, some melee tactics such as severing a Stalker’s limbs or destroying the Skywatcher’s propellers will stop their tracks.
