Kaya Wan Shrine Walkthrough – Shields from Water
When entering Kaya Wan shrine, you’ll find the place flooded with water. There’s a waterfall directly in front of you. But in order to cross and climb the waterfall, use the Cryonis Rune. When you do so, you can build a bridge of ice stones to cross to the waterfall.
When you reach the waterfall, place the Cryonis rune directly on the waterfall.That way, a block of ice will shoot out from the side. This creates a platform for you to use to climb up to the top.
After that portion, there’s a Guardian Scout waiting for you on a platform. There’s water surrounding the platform as well. But don’t use the Cyronis rune yet. It’s a bad idea. Since you can’t create a bridge to fight him, snipe him in the eye with an arrow. This knocks him into the water and destroys him. With him dead, create a bridge to his platform.
However, take note. At the right of the platform, there’s a chest floating in the water. If you want to open it, build an ice bridge up to the chest. Then, summon a platform underneath the chest. That way, you can jump to it and open the chest for an Ancient Core.
When you reach the next section, there’s a long hall with rushing water. But not just that. There are also two Guardian Scouts on platforms down the hall. However, sniping isn’t a good idea. They can hit you back. If you’re going for the quick route, jump to an ice block and quickly take them out with a powerful bow or a strong arrow. But if you need cover, climb down behind an ice block. Or, you can ready your shield. Should you get struck and fall into the water, you’ll die and drown in the waterfall.
After clearing the Guardian Scouts, move forward. You should spot a gate on the left with a chest behind it. Stand on an ice platform and you’ll need to create another one below the gate. Once you do, the gate is pushed up. Then, jump to the side of the ice block. Climb around to the other side to reach the chest and grab your Knight’s Broadsword.
After that, make use of the wooden raft. Guide it to the end of the waterfall then, jump. Use the paraglider to reach Monk Kaya Wan and claim your Spirit Orb.
