Maag Halan Shrine Walkthrough – The Test of Wood

Nestled within the Mido Swamp at the Northeast side of the Great Hyrule Forest is the Shrine Maag Halan.

Note: This Shrine is part of the Korok Trials Side Quest.

Head to Korok Forest and talk to Chio to start on the Korok Trials. To begin this particular Shrine Trial, locate Damia at the Eastern route of Korok Forest.

Safekeeping

Note that Damia instructs you to take good care of the armaments and this is exactly what the Trial is about. This trial is teeming with several enemies such as the Keeses, Chuchus, and bomb-throwing Stalkoblins that attempt to ruin the goods, therefore it is best to take them out as soon as possible.

Sooner or later, there will be an obstruction, hindering your footing, thus you must wield the Remote Bomb to clear the path. Remember that the trial takes place in a Swamp, and this means that there will soon be bogs scattered around the area. Tread with caution as falling into the pit will warp you back to the entrance no questions asked.

Another one Bites the Dust

The next segment will contain a large bog, and to make matters worse, new enemies appear such as the Octoroks and Stalkoblin archers. Take out the sharpshooters first as their ice arrows will be a nuisance to deal with, then finally finish off the Octoroks as their projectiles could send you falling into the bog.

Craft a path using the Cryonis to get through the large bog, bear in mind that you have to maintain momentum in order to get across safely. After finishing the large bog, you will encounter another on the right. Snipe the archer that is armed with Fire arrows. Continue crafting a path of glacial blocks to jump across with to eventually expose the Maag Halan Shrine. Go through the Shrine entrance, collect the item from the treasure chest then inspect the altar.
