One of the Lanayru Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Sheh Rata revolves around operating a mechanism to control the direction of an energy beam.

Sheh Rata Shrine Walkthrough – Speed of Light
From the Region of Lanayru, head Northwest, the Shrine requires you to go through Lanayru Tower’s West route. Navigate your way through the marsh, eventually passing by the Thims Bridge. Light the bushes to enter the Shrine.
Operate the level on your left to cause the laser to tilt to and strike the switch at the end. Jump off to the platform at the right corner by the entrance. Get to the bottom floor prior to the elevated water then unlock the chest to loot an Opal.
Control the lever to elevate the water, then build a path by summoning 3 ice pillars with the Cryonis Rune. Pick up from here by operating the lever to activate the energy beam. When it begins to move, leap to your summoned glacial platforms to cross, being certain that you get across before the water level reverts to the original setting. By the time it starts, snatch the metallic barrel from the following room, then drag it to the pressure plate, this eventually reveals the last chamber.
In front of the Monk, check the right side to locate a platform above. Operate the mechanism to elevate the water level, consequently sealing the gate. Create a path of ice that directs to water fountain (right side) with the Cryonis. Drop a Remote Bomb by the switch, then return to bring the water level down to unlock the entrance to the Monk. As you reach the opposite end, activate the bomb to increase the water level. Cast another ice path to form a bridge to the chest open it for a Giant Boomerang.
Head to the Shrine Gate and converse with the Monk Sheh Ruta to be rewarded with the Spirit Orb.
