Guide on recommended characters in Persona 5 Strikers (P5S) during the early, middle, and late game stages. Included are brief descriptions of each character's skills and abilities, and how to use them effectively in combat.

Recommended Characters to Use

Early Stages

Joker

A flexible character that can move quickly and can call upon Persona of various attributes. Joker combines high attack speed, wide range, and command of many Persona to fit in almost any team composition. With the ability to cycle his current Persona, Joker can effectively cover his weak spots. Owing to his outstanding kit, Joker can close out battles with ease and is a consistently strong part member throughout the entire game.

How to use Joker

The trick to using Joker is to make use of his Persona Attacks. Tap the △ button after making a string of □ buttons to change the special attack into a Persona Attack. Below is a list of helpful input sequences.

Persona Attack A	□ → □ → △
Persona Attack B	□ → □ → □ → △

When incorporating the Persona attack to the combo, the Persona appears and then performs a Skill. Each Persona has its own Skill which not only deals attribute-based damage but also does not consume SP. That being said, using the △ button as the last follow-up is a vital tool for landing attacks for free.

Sophia

Sophia is another versatile character that benefits any team setup thanks to her access to Bless and Recovery skills. She also boasts incredible attack range, allowing her to contribute heavily to the party’s offense, especially against multiple waves of enemies.

Panther

Panther’s Persona Carmen specializes in Fire-based attacks which are very effective against most enemies encountered during the game’s early stages. This allows you to clear areas quickly, though you may want to swap her out for foes that are not weak against fire damage.

Fox

Goemon, Fox’s Persona, uses Ice-based abilities which shine when infiltrating the game’s second main dungeon (Sendai Jail). Make sure to have Fox in the party as many enemies in the area are weak to Ice attacks, particularly Belis, Lamia, Orthrus, three of the four mini bosses, and Jail King Nightmare Ango.

Queen

Queen’s Persona Joanna specializes in the Nuclear attribute which deals increased Technical damage against enemies inflicted with Burn, Freeze, or Shock. This makes Queen a natural addition to any party with Panther or Fox.
