The Cow Racing mini game is accessed upon reaching the Fields of Fum. Talk to the rancher (Morris) at the entrance to the grazing area to start the mini game.

The Cow Racing mini game is simply a betting game where you must choose a cow to place 100 Gil on. Note that the outcome of the race is completely random so just choose one that you guess might win.

Mini Game Tips
1) The odds next to the cow’s number is not reliable
Betting on a cow based on the odds next to it is generally unreliable as the outcome of the race will still be entirely random. Choose any cow that you like as it will not matter much during the race.
2) Buy a cow
Other than the mini game, you can also talk to the NPC Mileu to buy livestock. Sending a cow to your family can cultivate your relationship with your father.
