How to Get the Unknown Element
What is the Unknown Element?
The Unknown Element is a special element that allows you to pass through any type of Miasma Stream regardless of its element. It is unique from other chalice elements in that it is colored white.
Obtaining the Unknown Element
You get the Unknown Element by completing a sequence of objectives in Lynari Desert. The actual tasks to perform are hinted in verses of Gurdy’s poem which he recites at different locations, starting from where he is met at Marr’s Pass.
Lynari Desert
| 1 | In Lynari Desert, head to the northernmost section to find a large cactus. Cast Thunder on it. |

| 2 | Walk northeast to find an old tent. Cast Gravity on it (Thunder + Fire) |
| 3 | Go south from the tent until you see a large mushroom rock protruding from the cliff to the east. Cast Fire on it. |
| 4 | From the large cactus’ location, walk southwest to find three rocks. Cast Blizzard on each of them, starting from the smallest to the largest one. |
| 5 | Finally, head southwest by going to the left of the desert’s entrance and following the wall to a large flower. Cast Holy on it (Blizzard + Life, Fire + Life, Thunder + Life). You will then get the Unknown Element. |
Uses
Required to reach the true final boss in The Abyss
Aside from allowing you to pass through any Miasma Stream, having the Unknown Element is the only way to reach the true final boss in the Abyss at the end of Mount Vellenge.

i didnt have to do the puzzle, the element was already uncovered
Same happened to me, but I did the puzzle, although I did it in the wrong order by accident. Next time I came to the desert, the unknown element was uncovered…
Probably a bug.
