How to Get Ancient Potion
What is Ancient Potion?
Ancient Potion is a rare crafting material used to craft end-game weapons, particularly Legendary Weapons. Note that all Legendary Weapons require the same type of materials which are Alloy x1, Ancient Potion x1, and Orichalcum x1.
Defeat the Giant Crab boss (cycle 2)
The Giant Crab boss found in River Belle Path can drop an Ancient Potion upon defeating it during cycle 2. The boss is not too difficult to defeat as well, making it an easy way to obtain the item.
Found in a chest in Reben Te Ra (cycle 3)
Ancient Potion can also be found after activating the Clear Magic (Holy) switch that leads to the Lich’s boss area. After defeating the two Skeleton Mages, press the switch and go north (instead of going down the stairs to the boss) to reach the other side of the pyramid. The chest there contains Ancient Potion.
Farm the enemies in Mount Kilanda (cycle 3)
Many of the enemies found in Mount Kilanda during cycle 3 drop Ancient Potion. The area is the most reliable way to obtain a good number of the material so farming there is recommended.
Check Hidden Item spots
It is also possible to obtain Ancient Potion in the Hidden Item spots found in town and villages if you are lucky.
Equipment that Require Ancient Potion
Weapons crafted using Ancient Potions are only bested by those made from Adamantite, a material only found in the post-game high-difficulty dungeons. This means that you should start upgrading your gear after clearing the main story.
