Oblivion Village Walkthrough
Oblivion Village – 1st Area (South)
| 1 | From the starting location, hit the purple pedestal and run quickly to the 1st treasure chest (Raise Stone x1) and 2nd treasure chest (Cure Stone x1). |

| 2 | Afterwards, follow the path going east and then north. Open the 3rd treasure chest (Phoenix Down x1) and the 4th treasure chest (Helm of Arai x1). |
| 3 | Backtrack to the main path and keep going east and as it turns north. |
| 4 | Take out the enemies as you move further. Follow the path when it bends west until you reach a bridge. |
| 5 | Cross the bridge and head down into the valley. Defeat the enemy to obtain a key. |
Oblivion Village – 1st Area (North)
| 1 | Walk west to find a pedestal covered with vines. Use Fire to destroy the vines and use the key on the pedestal. |

| 2 | Defeat more monsters as you press on further west while opening the 5th treasure chest (10 Gil) and the 6th treasure chest (Sage’s Staff Artifact x1) in the northwest corner. |
| 3 | Backtrack to the pedestal but this time take the path south. |
| 4 | Go to the dilapidated house and find the 7th treasure chest (Mythril x1). |
| 5 | Backtrack again further north above the vine-covered pedestal and past the cliffs. Take out the enemies ahead get a key to use on the door further north. |
| 7 | Take the path stretching east first before unlocking the door to the north. The 8th treasure chest (Phoenix Down x1) and the 9th treasure chest (Orichalcum x1) at the end of the path. |
| 8 | Return to the locked door to the north and use the key to open it. |

Rottenheim Boss Strategies
Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss:
Keep your distance
Be mindful of where you’re going. Keep moving and maintain a moderate distance away from the boss. If you move too far you’ll be punished by his ranged attack. While you can approach the boss, ideally you shouldn’t take your time dishing out attacks since he’ll punish you if you take too long to back away.
Take out the skeletons
Instead of skeletons, Carrion Worms will join the fray and interfere during the fight sometime later. Prioritize on disposing of them quickly to prevent their magic attacks from landing.
Avoid the toxic cloud
When the boss’ head tilts back, that is a clear sign that it will release a toxic cloud after some charge time. Clear the way to avoid the cloud. If you get caught, you’ll be inflicted with poison. The casting of this attack will be quicker giving you less opening.
Use fire spells or focus attacks
The boss fares poorly against fire spells which make the elemental useful for this fight. That being said, capitalize on ranged spells over physical attacks if you can afford to since you’ll be able to avoid most of his physical moves.
