How to Unlock a Side Story

Clear the first chapter of the Traveler character

You must first complete the first chapter of Thief Throné. After defeating the chapter 1 boss and clearing chapter 2, look around the town and journey outside to find NPCs in need of assistance in the world of Solistia.

Talk to an NPC with a Side Story marker

When you see an NPC with an orange speech bubble flying over its head, approach the NPC and trigger the side story.

Side Story (Side Quest) Marker	An orange marker will appear when there is an available side story.

By getting close to the orange Side Story indicator, they may also be found on the radar.

Certain side quests may be accessible outside of the towns, while others can only be accessed within the towns.

Make use of Path Actions

Path Action	Description
Steal (Daytime)	Steal townspeople’s belongings (with a given probability). Fail, and your reputation will suffer. You won’t be able to use Path Actions if your reputation suffers. Raise Throné’s level to increase her chances of success.
Ambush (Nighttime)	Knock people unconscious. You must be the appropriate level to succeed. If Throné’s level is high enough, she can knock someone unconscious. This will allow you to move forward when someone is blocking your path.

Each side story has a different set of requirements that must be satisfied. Some involve overcoming enemies, while others call on you to provide supplies or communicate with an NPC in a different town. It is preferable to acquire every traveler character so that you can use every Path Action.
