Giff Boss Strategies

Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss:

Carry multiple recovery and battle items

Make sure you have a supply of HP and SP recovery items on-hand before facing the boss. Before you get to the boss, there is a Provisioner NPC who you may purchase them from. Additionally, carry along a supply of combat goods, such as status effects and elemental damage items. They may also be acquired from chests and NPCs besides stores.

Hire an NPC before heading into battle

Moreover, employ an NPC as a summon. These NPCs can occasionally block attacks and accept damage for you when called upon in battle. While some NPC recruits are experts in the offensive for a certain damage type, others offer defense, support, or buffs/debuffs. We chose the female townsperson with healing, elemental damage, and elemental defense-boosting skills in this fight.

Learn new skills

Before engaging the boss, make sure Partitio learned new skills like Ember, Sidestep, and Rest.

Use Bow and Fire skills to take down Lackey #1 and Lackey #2

First, take down Giff’s Lackey #1 (Weak to Bow) and then Giff Lackey #2 (Weak to Polearm). Start by lowering their shield points, then increase your boost points until you have 3 BP. Finish them off by using Partitio’s fire skill, Ember.

Cast buff

Before entering Boost Mode, let your NPC hire cast buffs on your party (if you have access to buff skills). The female townsperson we hired has the ability to perform the buffing skill called Mental Augmentation as well as the healing skill, First Aid.

Recover lost HP and SP

To keep your party’s HP and SP at a safe range, utilize your hire’s healing skill or consume HP and SP recovery items. This is effective when you are stalling or building up your BP count in preparation for Boost Mode.

Use Polearm attacks against Giff

Focus your attention on Giff (Weak to Polearm). Build up your BP while reducing the shield points of the boss.

Activate Boost Mode to deal heavy damage

Utilize Boost Mode and deliver significant damage to Giff once Partitio at least 3 BP. Use your Fire skills for Partitio since your elemental attack damage will be buffed by your hired townsperson.

Combine Partitio’s Boost Mode with his Latent Power

Once Partitio’s Latent Power, Hoot and Holler, has fully charged. You can instantly replenish your character’s BP at full. This method is quite effective when dealing heavy damage repeatedly on your target while in full Boost Mode.

If the boss is still alive, repeat the process.
