Load Times Differences

There are noticeable differences in terms of load times among each platform for playing Octopath Traveler 2. The Steam (PC) and PS5 versions boast almost no loading times. The Switch version, meanwhile, takes about 2 to 3 seconds to load.

The playable demo of the game can be downloaded for free on the PS5, PS4/PS4 Pro, Switch, and Steam so you can test the game out if you own more than one platform before purchasing the game.

The Steam (PC) version has the best potential performance.

The best way to experience Octopath Traveler 2 is on Steam (PC) if you are running the game on recommended hardware or better in addition to a 4K-compatible display. Note that the recommended specs for the game are not as demanding as other games on PC.

The Switch version has the lowest hardware performance but offers portability.

While Octopath Traveler 2 on the Switch will not run as well compared to other platforms, it offers portability so you can take your adventure anywhere with you. It is also important to point out that the difference in loading times, screen resolution, and framerate among supported platforms may not bother some players too much so the Switch version is still a very good option.

Please note that performance values for the Steam Deck were not included in this guide.
