How long is the demo?
The demo lets you play for three (3) hours from the time you start the game. Note that your actual play time is recorded on your save game file to help you keep track of it.
Is the demo available on all supported platforms?
The demo is currently available on all supported platforms (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam). You can download all versions of the demo on each platform’s respective online stores.
Which playable characters are available in the demo?
All eight (8) Travelers (playable characters) can be selected in the demo, allowing you to play through the early sections of each protagonist’s story path to become familiar with their individual backstories, job classes, and unique characteristics in battle.

Does progress in the demo carry over to the full game?
Game data from the demo can be carried over to the full game when it is released. This means that you can simply pick up from where you left off in the demo and have your story progress, character levels, unlocked skills, equipment, and Leaves (money) transferred when the game launches on February 24th, 2023.

Does the demo have cross save?
Like the full game, the demo does not have a cross save feature that will allow you to transfer game data on one platform to another. An exception to this is the PlayStation 4 which lets you migrate your save file to the Playstation 5 version.

Can you freely explore the world map in the demo?
The demo only allows you to move around the starting areas where each Traveler begins their journey at. There is, however, a lot to interact with and discover in each location.
Can you change the game difficulty in the demo?
As will be the case with the game’s full release, the demo does not feature adjustable difficulty. This stays true to the first game which also did not give players the option to lower or increase the difficulty anywhere in the game’s settings or main menu.

How to Download the Octopath Traveler II Playable Demo
Method 1: Download the demo from the Octopath Traveler 2 official website.
You can download the playable demo of Octopath Traveler 2 by going to the game’s official website and clicking on “Download Demo” at the bottom of the screen.
Then, choose which platform you want to play the demo on (Playstation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam) indicated by the icons on the page. Clicking on an icon you redirect you to the platform’s Octopath Traveler 2 dedicated website to download the demo.
Method 2: Download the demo from each platforms respective online stores.
You can also download the demo directly from each platform’s respective online stores. These are the Playstation Store (Playstation 4 and Playstation 5), Nintendo e-Shop (Nintendo Switch), and Steam (PC). Note that you will need to log-in to your account on these online stores to download the demo.
