Pithos

Pithos is the Greek name used to refer to a large storage container. Pithos, its plural form, are used as bulk storage that contains fluids or grains. They were comparable to the drums, barrels, and casks and we used during the Neolithic Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age.

The Pithos’ name is also related to a Latin word, “Fiscus”, which means “Fiscal” or “Purse”.
