Red Laser The boss spins and then fires a red beam out of its eyes.
Blue Laser The boss places its hands on the ground and then fires a blue beam that freezes whoever it hits.
Rocket Punch The boss backs away and then propels his fists like rockets. The projectiles travel quickly in a straight line and cause great damage. You can dodge it by sidestepping.
Slow Gas The boss shoots a cloud that slows down your mobility. While not dangerous on its own, if you get affected by it, you’ll be more open to his follow up attacks.
Whirling Attack The boss spins around and then knocks back anyone standing in the way. If anyone remains within the area of effect, they will also take another hit. The attack is triggered when you get too close to the boss, similar to rock punch. However, the difference between them is that the boss only uses this when its health at low health.

Golem Strategies

Take out the Water Flans

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition - Golem - Take out mobs first
Defeat the minions that litter the field. You need to ensure that no other enemies are around when you fight the boss.

Ask help from the Mog

The mog comes in handy because you can time using spells when it notifies you of an attack. For instance, you can cast an ice spell when the mog alerts you of an attack. Doing so may encourage the mog to mimic your spell which combines your spells to produce a more powerful one.

Determine your approach

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition - Golem - Focus Attacks
You can opt to use ranged attacks like focus attacks or spells to land consistent damage. Another way is to use physical attacks. Aim to lower its defense with a fire spell and then follow up with physical attacks. If you opt for the latter, you won’t have to worry about the blue beams and the effects of slow.
