Walkthrough Part 20 – Escaping Junon Strategy

FFVII Escaping Junon

Area: Escaping Junon

1 Following the long cutscene from the Whirlwind Maze, you will wake up as Tifa.
2 Talk to Barret and you will trigger an event with Heidegger and Rufus.
3 You will take control of Barret once Tifa and Barret are handcuffed. Follow the guard and Tifa.
4 You will arrive at a save point. Save your progress. It is also best to equip Barret with some weapons, armor, and Materia before following Tifa and the guard.
5 Upon reaching a room full of chairs, a small dialogue will occur between Scarlet, Barret, and Tifa.
6 An alarm will trigger, signaling that Weapon is in the vicinity. Another cutscene will play.
7 After the cutscene, Cait Sith will jump out of his disguise to assist Barret and Tifa. Defeat the Shinra soldiers. Cait Sith will then be part of your party.
8 Cait Sith will then be part of your party.
9 Follow Cait Sith to the airport. Here, you will find Yuffie in disguise.
10 She will join your party after another cutscene with the Weapon.
11 Make your way to the next open area and press the control port to raise the lift to the airport.
12 Head toward the edge of the map to trigger an event.
13 After the cutscene, you will be in control of Tifa again.
14 Use the following controls to get the key and free yourself from the chair:

  • Press X twice to reach for the key with your feet.
  • Press Triangle to have sit back on the chair.
  • Press X and Triangle to pass the key from your feet to your mouth.
  • Press Triangle and Square or O to pass the key from mouth to hand to unlock your bindings.
15 Once out of the chair, walk towards the door to trigger another cutscene.
16 Head down the face of the dome all the way to the barrel of the gun.
17 An event will play where you will have a slap fight with Scarlet. You will then trigger another event.
18 Talk to the people inside the Highwind. Talk to Barret and Cait Sith in the cockpit.
19 Speak to Red XIII, to Cid, and then to the co-pilot standing at the wheel.
20 Talk to the person near the wall at the entrance of the cockpit to heal your team’s HP, MP, and save your game.
21 Talk to the co-pilot in the cockpit again to gain control of the Highwind.
