Horse Mounts
In Breath of the Wild, generally there are around 5 categories of Horse Mounts. With the most common being scattered across Hyrule, while the more elusive obtainable from Side Quests. Each of which have varying Stats and Stamina required to tame.
Note that you cannot register some Horses in the stable. Please refer to the Name of the Horse to find a detailed guide on the respective method or Side Quest associated to the mount.
Horse

Commonly found grazing on plains near Dueling Peaks Stable, the horse is a generic mount with stats being lackluster compared to others. Herds can be found and have a relatively easy soothing requirement. These are the only mount group which come in a diverse selection of colors and patterns. As the standard mount, they can be nicknamed and registered in a Stable.
Special Mount: Epona
Requires the Super Smash Bros. Link Amiibo after scanning it for the first time. Once summoned, the horse of legend has a gentle temperament with well-rounded stats. Its bond is fully maxed out, thus no longer requires soothing when mounted. Because of this, it is highly recommended for novice equestrians.
You can register Epona at a stable however it cannot be nicknamed.
Giant Horse

Best to have a maxed out stamina wheel when attempting to soothe it. Once soothed, the Highland Stable is the nearest site to register and provide a nickname for it. The Giant Horse possesses a wild temperament, slow speed, and trades stamina for massive strength.
White Horse

Requires extra caution when attempting to mount as it gets easily spooked. Once tamed, prepare to get along with its wild temperament.
Lord of the Mountain

One of the most difficult to find mounts in the Kingdom, be extra sneaky when attempting to mount it as it will vanish when alarmed.
The Lord of the Mountain is a majestic creature whose presence is only felt whenever it emits its blue radiance from the top of Satori Mountain. If you have access to Mogg Latan Shrine, warp to the site to reach its habitat. As a mythical creature, it has exceptionally high stats. Bear in mind that you cannot rename it nor register this mount.
Stalhorse

Found near Hebra Tower or mounted by Stalkoblins. Its appearance strikes fear and disgust to the Groom of the Stable, thus it unfortunately cannot be renamed.
