What are Crossed Paths?
Crossed Paths are a type of special story event in Octopath Traveler 2. They are essentially episodic tales involving two Travelers (playable characters) in the game. Crossed Paths provide additional backstory on each character through their interactions with their Crossed Paths partner.

Do Crossed Paths lead to romance?
Despite no information being revealed in official gameplay trailers and announcements, it may be possible for some Crossed Path events to result in romance or at least hint at deeper relationships between two characters. More information on this will be added when they are confirmed in the game.

While yet to be confirmed, it is expected that completing the Crossed Paths may give you access to new skills and abilities, equipment, and other useful features in the game.
