New Features After Clearing the Final Chapter: The Unseen Future

The features listed below are unlocked once you have completed the game’s final story chapter The Unseen Future. You will need to clear all story chapters for each of the 8 playable characters (Travelers) as well as all Crossed Paths to access the last dungeon of the game where the final boss awaits.
Free Exploration
Upon defeating the game’s final boss at the end of the final story chapter, you will be able to freely explore previously visited locations to continue your progress on unlocking trophies and achievements you missed. Try to spend time clearing any remaining side stories (side quests), raising your characters to level 99, and obtaining all equipment (weapons, armor, and accessories).
Things to Do in Free Exploration
- Raise all characters to level 99.
- Continue exploring dungeons.
- Collect all equipment (weapons, armor, and accessories)
- Clear all side stories.
- Max out all primary and secondary jobs and unlock all skills.
- Obtain all Battle-Tested Equipment.
Epilogue Chapter
The Epilogue chapter is also unlocked once you have cleared the final story chapter. Before starting the Epilogue (Ending), try to aim for 100% completion by doing any remaining tasks during free exploration.
No New Game Plus (NG+)
As wit the first game, Octopath Traveler 2 does not feature any New Game Plus (NG+) once have cleared the main story. This means that there is no way to play through each story chapter from the beginning with all your character levels, skills, equipment, and money carried over.
New Quests (to be confirmed)
As with the first game, Octopath Traveler 2 is expected to feature new post-game quests that can be started by revisiting various locations in the game. Many of these unlockable quests are expected to provide closure to each playable character’s story in a similar manner to the previous game so it is worth clearing them when they become available.
Secret Jobs (to be confirmed)
Secret jobs may also be accessible upon clearing the game’s main story. While yet to be revealed from official sources, new classes similar to the Runelord, Starseer, Sorcerer, and Warmaster found in the first game may also appear in the sequel only after you have beaten the game.
Post-Game Dungeon (to be confirmed)
Octopath Traveler 2 will also likely feature a post-game dungeon like The Ruins of Hornburg unlocked in the previous game. Once you have completed all playable character story sections, it may be possible to enter a post-game dungeon where you can challenge incredibly powerful bosses gauntlet-style to earn special rewards.
