Raja Naga

Stemming from Hindu mythology, the name Raja Naga translates as ‘Naga King,’ with Naga referring to the Cobra. There are several accounts of this noble class, with members coming from different parts of the world. Most notable examples came from India, Japan, and Southwest Asia, with Vasuki considered as one of the Snake gods. Their forms may vary, from the more prominent beast features of a serpent above the waist, while others possess multiple protruding cobra heads.

These have also been recorded in Buddhist mythology. Their primary duties involve leading Nagas and directing them closer to enlightenment through Buddha and other ‘enlightened.
