Siegfried

Siegfried is based on the dragon-slaying hero of the same name from the medieval German epic Das Nibelungenlied.

In the epic, Siegfried was tasked by Regin, his foster parent and guardian, to slay Fafnir. The hero met Odin on his way to Fafnir, where he was advised by the god to dig trenches to drain the dragon’s blood. Once he met the dragon, he killed it and then proceeded to bathe in the dragon’s blood. When he drank some of the blood, he was able to understand the language of the birds. The birds told him that Regin is plotting to kill him. Angered by this revelation, he killed Regin.

Siegfried returns as a persona in Persona 5 Strikers (or Persona 5 Scramble). The persona can be summoned or fused by the Protagonist (codename: Joker), the returning main character and leader of the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5.
