All Special Conversations and Rewards

In Shin Megami Tensei V (SMT 5), demons may have special conversations with foes that they are connected to in terms of their backstory and lore during battle. These interactions provide interesting bits of information, implying rivalries, grudges, mutual respect, or reluctance to fight. Certain dialogues may also take the form of funny or light-hearted banter.

Triggering Special Conversations

Special conversations can be viewed by having a demon in your party that is related to the foe you are currently fighting. In short, simply have them meet in battle to trigger special conversations.

Rewards

While not yet confirmed in Shin Megami Tensei V, it is assumed that special conversations will work similarly to that found in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster (SMT 3: Nocturne HD Remaster). Upon bringing two related demons to meet on the battlefield, you may be able to obtain rare items (once only). More information on these rewards will be added when the game comes out.
