How to Trigger Canon of Vengeance Story Routes (SMT V: Vengeance Version Only)
Choose to take the girl’s hand at the start of the game.
To trigger the Canon of Vengeance story route exclusive to Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (SMT 5: Vengeance), you must choose to “take the girl’s hand” (left option) at the start of the game. This is the only requirement for gaining access to the two (2) new endings not available in the base version of the game.

Choosing not to take the girl’s hand (right option), meanwhile, will begin the Canon of Creation story route which sets you on the path for any of the four (4) original endings in the base version of the game.

How to Unlock All Canon of Vengeance Endings (SMT 5: Vengeance Version Only)
After triggering the Canon of Vengeance ending route exclusive to SMT 5: Vengeance, you will be able to align yourself with either Bethel by choosing all “top” story dialogue choices coinciding with the Vengeance Law route (Tao Isonokami) or Chaos by choosing all “bottom” story dialogue choices coinciding with the Vengeance Chaos route (Yoko Hiromine).
Canon of Vengeance Route Features and Missable Content
New Subquests: The Serpent King and The Great Adversary
The subquests The Serpent King and The Great Adversary are exclusive to the Canon of Vengeance story routes and only become available once you have beaten the game and unlocked the Canon of Creation True Neutral ending (Create a World for Humanity Alone).

New Superboss: Satan
After reaching the Empyrean, head to Shinjuku to begin The Serpent King subquest. Clearing it will unlock the next subquest The Great Adversary which requires you to defeat the new superboss Satan exclusive to the Vengeance version of the game.

New Game Difficulty: Godborn Mode
Beating Satan unlocks the new Godborn (Ultra Hard) difficulty mode which is the highest difficulty setting in the game for players seeking a challenge.

Demon Fusions Unlocked
Mastema
Regardless of the Canon of Vengeance ending you get, you will unlock the demon Mastema for beating the game.
Lucifer
Finally, beating Lucifer on Godborn mode unlocks him for fusion at the World of Shadows.

Canon of Vengeance Ending Mechanics
You cannot choose the Canon of Vengeance ending at the final area of the game.
Unlike the Canon of Creation endings (with the exception of the True Neutral ending), you cannot pay a Macca (money) to get either the Canon of Vengeance Law or Chaos ending at the game’s final area if your alignment does not coincide with the particular ending you want.
If you are aiming for either the Canon of Vengeance Law or Chaos endings, be sure to choose the correct dialogue responses during the main story to increase your alignment towards getting a specific ending.
