Xigbar in Kingdom Hearts 3
As one of the vessels for Master Xehanort’s heart, Xigbar may play a critical role in Kingdom Hearts 3. He should be much stronger now, thanks to powers instilled inside the fragments of Xehanort’s heart.
The real Organization XIII’s plan is to find the thirteen vessels and use them to unlock Kingdom Hearts. Master Xehanort will then use the power of Kingdom Hearts to reset the world and create a new one where light and darkness are equal.

Xigbar’s History
Braig, The Apprentice
Before becoming a Nobody, Xigbar was Braig. He was one of Ansem the Wise’s apprentices and was tasked with guarding Radiant Garden from dark forces.
However, Braig was secretly working for Master Xehanort, who promised to give him the power to wield a Keyblade if he joins his “thirteen seekers of darkness.” He was used by Master Xehanort to lure Terra into darkness.
After Aqua’s battle with Terra-Xehanort, he discovered the unconscious Terra-Xehanort in Radiant Garden. Braig and another guard named Dilan carried Terra and brought him to Ansem. Upon waking up, Terra-Xehanort said that he lost all of his memories, which prompted Braig to remind him that his name is “Xehanort”.
Braig vows to keep an eye on Terra-Xehanort and wait for his memories to return.
Becoming a Nobody
Braig was one of the apprentices who helped in Terra-Xehanort’s experiments on the Heartless. These experiments led to the swarming of Heartless in the Realm of Light. Ansem, noticing the disturbance in the realm, searched for the catalyst. Upon discovering that his apprentice’s experiments were the cause, he stops them from continuing.
Eventually, Terra-Xehanort stabbed all of the other apprentices and turned them into Heartless. However, because of Braig’s strong will, his body continued to exist as a Nobody. Angered at Ansem, the Nobodies of his apprentices banished him to the Realm of Darkness.
With the birth of their leader Xemnas, Xigbar and the other Nobodies created Organization XIII.
Xigbar, The Freeshooter
As a Nobody, Xigbar participates in several missions for Organization XIII. Roxas joins him in some of these missions. During their mission in Agrabah, Xigbar tells Roxas that Nobodies have nothing inside of them and will cease to exist if they die while Heartless will leave behind a heart.
During the events of Kingdom Hearts 2, Xigbar taunts Sora during his adventure in Hollow Bastion. Knowing that the Organization is using Sora to harvest hearts, Xigbar transforms a dragon in The Land of Dragons into a Heartless, which Sora unwittingly defeats.
In his final battle against Sora, he is still up to his antics of mocking Sora by calling him Roxas and criticizing his Keyblade skills.
A Vessel
In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Xigbar reveals that he is one of the thirteen vessels for the fragments of Xehanort’s heart. He aided the other members of the Organization in setting up Sora to be the thirteenth vessel during the boy’s Mark of Mastery.
Although their plans for Sora were foiled by Riku, Xigbar and the other members pledge that they will find a new thirteenth vessel for Master Xehanort.
