Mission 19 – Vergil Walkthrough Strategy
Battle with Vergil
When facing Vergil, Dante can start with his Gunslinger style to pick the enemy off from a distance. However, Vergil can block and reflect your bullets if you simply spam attacks. He can also counter moves with his Rapid Slash and Perfect Judgement Cut attacks. Vergil can also teleport around the battlefield. If he catches Dante off-guard, he will be able to land a critical strike. Be wary of Summoned Swords while fighting. Vergil can also do a Judgment Cut End attack that is hard to avoid. This is telegraphed by Vergil lowering his knees and holding his sword for a short period.
In his Devil Trigger mode, Vergil can do aerial attacks and multiple slashs. It is advisable for the player to also unleash Dante’s Devil Trigger to match him. A better way of holding Vergil at bay is using different styles and weapons combos to catch him off-guard in battle. Another cutscene will occur after Vergil is defeated.
