King Cerberus
Attacks
King Cerberus switches between fire, lightning, and ice modes and has unique abilities for each element. This gives King Cerberus a diverse set of tools for fighting both up close or from a distance.
Attribute Change
King Cerberus will move to the center of the area before sending out an elemental shockwave. When you see King Cerberus glowing purple, blue, or red, move as far away from him as you can.
Flame Ground Slam
King Cerberus will raise its front paw to strike the ground and generate a small pillar of flames. You can evade it by rolling to the side or by using Trickster. King Cerberus can do this up to three times and can change up the last hit into a Flame Swipe.
Flame Swipe
Cerberus will swipe its front paws sideways. He can do this up to three times and can change the last hit into a ground slam.
Ground Lightning
King Cerberus will generate traces of lightning on the ground. Jump to avoid them or move using Trickster.
Lightning Orbs
King Cerberus will summon orbs of lightning that shoot toward you one by one. You can shoot them down with your guns or dodge them.
Icicle Drop
King Cerberus will raise his head up and roar to summon thick blocks of ice in front of him. Avoid them by moving around with Trickster.
Icicle Rain
King Cerberus will lower its head for an extended period and roar to summon a rain of sharp icicles. When you see him starting, get as far away as you can.
Ice Breath
The area around King Cerberus will glow. He will then breath ice onto the ground that freezes anything standing on it. Get away when the ground glows or jump when King Cerberus breaths ice to avoid getting frozen.
Tail Slam
King Cerberus will raise its tail up to slam down on you. Avoid by rolling to your side or move using Trickster.
Pouncing Swipe
King Cerberus withdraws for a moment before jumping toward the player and swiping at them. Avoid by jumping or rolling to the side.
Strategy
Be familiar with Cerberus behavior in all three modes
King Cerberus frequently switches between his fire, thunder, and ice modes. Knowing his behavior in all three will allow you to evade his attacks more easily.
Stay Close to King Cerberus
Fight King Cerberus up close for the majority of the fight to push on the offense, though be aware when he is about to change modes since the shockwave he unleashes has a wide radius. You can negate damage from the shockwave by timing a guard with Royal Guard at the exact moment the shockwave erupts.
Going to King Cerberus side is relatively safe and allows you to attack him a few times before he faces you again.
Use Devil Trigger
Going into Devil Trigger or Sin Devil Trigger allows you to burst Down King Cerberus with the forms’ powerful attacks. You won’t be recovering HP if you go into the latter, so the regular Devil Trigger is recommended.
