Brendan Greene’s Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds concurrent player numbers nearly reached the two million mark on October 9, 2017.
Amidst Problems, Battlegrounds Concurrent Player Numbers Rise: News
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is a last-man-standing shooter that recently became the darling of the gaming world. The game’s premise involves fighting to be the last man standing on an 8×8 kilometer island full of weapons and supplies. Due to its high-tension gameplay, Battlegrounds rose up the steam charts to even dominate Valve’s Dota 2 Steam Charts ranking.
With all the issues the game has been facing, it’s easy to expect that Battlegrounds will be history. However, the numbers would beg to disagree with us. Last Saturday, Battlegrounds concurrent player numbers rose to 1,984,278, missing the two million mark by at least 16,000 concurrent players. I am pretty sure by this weekend that the number will reach that mark.
Battlegrounds concurrent player numbers are stated to be the cause of the recent connection issues. The PUBG development team announced on Steam that it has been increasingly difficult to manage servers when in peak times. So while Battlegrounds remains to be the hit Early Access game it is today, it isn’t without its share of problems.
Which begs the question: will the Battlegrounds Xbox One release be as buggy as their Steam counterpart? I don’t think it’s far from the truth. What ever happens, we know people will still play it. The game is like New Vegas: it’s buggy to the core but there’s something about it that’s worth playing every time.
