PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds / PUBG - Game Modes

This page contains an explanation of the game modes in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds - solo, duo, squad and zombie - and their unique features.

Game Modes

Each game mode (SOLO, DUO, SQUAD) is a system that matches players according to the game mode that they queued. Players that queued solo will only be matched with other players that also queued solo and will not be matched up against players who chose other game modes.
Below are all the currently available game modes of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, including game modes soon to be added.

Solo

Solo is a free-for-all game mode where every player is your enemy. You must be the last man standing in order to win this game mode. You can either choose to continuously avoid enemy players as long as possible until their numbers dwindle, or go all out and hunt every single one of them.

Duo

This game mode allows you to pair up with a friend or another individual to compete with other teams in two. You win the game by being the last team standing or the only player remaining in the game. Duo mode also allows pairs to share and split ammo and items with each other, as well as the ability to revive each other if knocked out. Squad

The squad game mode allows you to form a team of 4 players. You will face off against twenty five teams if all of the players involved are grouped into 4. You can also play alone in this game mode if you choose.

Zombie Mode

The zombie game mode was announced in E3 Twitch stage of 2017. As of July 26, the game mode has not been implemented in the game yet. The zombie game mode is currently only available for PUBG partners in custom servers.
