Strategy

Be aware of Kiryu’s Stances.

Kiryu uses four combat styles when fought and will switch to a different one based on his HP.

Use Poison.

Having Joon-Gi Han use poison to continuously deplete Kiryu’s HP is a viable strategy to defeat him. This is to allow you to keep damaging him even when you all party members are focused on recovering HP.

Reduce Kiryu’s Defense.

Using Meromero Typhoon and Burning Turtle Crush to lower Kiryu’s defenses is recommended when fighting him, though you will need to reapply any debuffs you inflicted (including poison) when he changes stances.

Attack with Cold.

Using Cold attacks is one of the best ways to damage Kiryu, especially with the Miss Kyaba job’s Sparkling Cannon ability. Using magic attacks will be especially important when Kiryu is at 1/4 HP and switches to Dragon of Dojima style. He will gain incredible damage output and the ability to counter incoming physical attacks.
