Strategy
Boasting high bullet speed and low bullet drop, the Mini 14 makes it easy to hit even a running target. In addition, there is virtually no recoil, so it’s pretty simple to get handle of. The Mini 14 can be used in mid-range combat like an assault rifle, as one can tap-fire their way through 20 rounds before the need to reload. That said, a large-capacity magazine attachment – increasing the number of rounds to 30 – is preferred if the Mini 14 is to be used as a replacement for an assault rifle.
Compared to the SKS, the Mini 14 is easier to find, and uses the more commonly-available 5.56mm rounds. Arguably its biggest drawback is its low power: though it’s slightly stronger than most assault rifles, it’s weaker than the AKM. Certain players may thus find the assault rifles’ ease-of-use preferable.
Players who have never experienced the joy of sniping should find the Mini 14 easy to use, so if you can find a 4x ACOG Scope, go ahead and take a crack at those long-range shots.
