Bluehole, the company behind the massively multiplayer online battle royal game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUGB), has partnered with Gamescom to allow players to obtain special character skins inspired by the film Battle Royale in its next big update rolling out next week.
New Player Skins Based on Battle Royale in Next Update
While still in an early access phase, the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) are looking to expand the roster of available skins next week (August 3) by adding three character model crates to the game as part of its next big patch update. First is the Gamescom Invitational Crate, which costs 2.50 USD and contains skins based on various characters from Kinji Fukasaku’s bloody brutal dystopian action film. The two other crates – the Survivor and Wanderer crates – will be given for free. The first crate won’t be out for long though, so be sure to grab it before August 27. The funds collected from players buying the crates will be used to organize a Gamescom Germany IRL event, which includes the prizes for winners and the rest going to charity.

The update scheduled for next week will also address problems related to the game client that cause that game to crash on occasion, as well as various other bug fixes to improve the server’s performance moving forward. Click here to read more.
