[Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds / PUBG] Changes to Scheduled Patch Rollouts Announced!

This is a Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds article. Here you will learn about the new changes announced by PUBG regarding Scheduled Patch Rollouts.

Changes to Scheduled Patch Rollouts announced!

Yesterday, PUBG developers announced on steam that they will be cancelling their scheduled patch rollouts.  This announcement came after the previous extension of July’s update to early in August. According to the post, the developers are changing their patch and update schedule to “improve how [they] work on the game, as well as set realistic expectations for players.” This means that monthly patches would not be rolled out as often as they had before.

The developers continued elaborating on their reasons for halting the monthly and weekly updates, stating that being rushed to finish game features and testing them caused a lot more issues than it solved. This was done for the sake of maintaining a ‘high standard of quality,’ (which PUBG is known to have, in spite of its alpha state).

However, it seems that this rather somber community post is not without its positives. For one, the developers state that they will utilize the test servers for “significantly longer periods of time and deploy patches and hotfixes when necessary.” This would be done so that new features could still be given feedback by the community.

The article ends with the developers assuring that they are still on-track to release Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds by Q4 of 2017, emphasizing that they are not becoming complacent.
