[Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds / PUBG] A Noob Plays PUBG – Episode 2

This is A Noob Plays PUBG Episode 2. Here you will learn all about the sad and pathetic adventures of a noob trying to survive Erangel!

Welcome to A Noob Plays PUBG Episode 2! Please give this poor sap some advice if you can!

Session 1: A Battle with Lag

I blame lag for every problem I had in my first session. I literally could not even find a great spot to land. I do also blame myself for not being brave enough to enter the first neighborhood I found just because there were other dudes lurking around it–I have to overcome this. Also, my problem earlier was that I did not reload, because when I finally got to a decent house after cutting through a small patch of trees, I was killed by another wanderer that I heard in the area. Yes, the lag was there, but I was also at fault. I could have survived that.

What was out of my control was this weird bug that doesn’t render the buildings. The buildings I saw in this session were blurry and misshapen. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t playing Moons of Madness.

Session 2: Inexplicable proof that I am the dumbest being alive

I started off pretty well, actually, landing in the nuclear power plant. Sneaking through the massive complex, I took the gas can nearest as well as an S1897. In the next plant I found an AKM and some ammo for a pistol, which I didn’t take. Leaving the power plant behind, I found a UAZ just down a hillside and near the road west of the powerplant. A lucky son I am, climbed into the jeep and drove off deep into the circle, braving hill and generally making lots and lots of noise.

Sadly it was not the noise that killed me, but the UAZ itself. After entering the safe area I decided to drive on for a bit, making sure I get deeper into the zone before I leave. I get to one of the towns and park by the road side, but I get out too damn early and was crushed underneath the wheels.

Session 3: The Hassles of Starting a Duo Game

Frustrated at my lone ranger game, I decided to play a game with a bro. Hitting up my Facebook profile with an open invitation to play PUBG, I managed to play a duo game with a friend. We connected on a Discord server for convenience and proceeded to play the game. I didn’t get to kill somebody, but I was thrilled to actually get to around 15 to 10.

We slowly traversed through Mytla, camping and hiding from some looters. After having looted a decent amount of weapons and equipment, we found a motorcycle in town, and seeing that it was the only way we could leave, used it to get closer to the playable area.

We found one of those octagonal buildings deep in the forest. It was looted, and we used it to camp, waiting out the fighting and the other looters. My VSS was ready to gun down the first poor sap that dared to enter the room. Alas, we never got to fire a single shot there. The circle had closed in, and it was time for us to go again.

We drove all the way to a small row of houses. Breaching one of the blue houses, we decided to camp upstairs. My VSS was set on Single-Shot. We took some pot shots at some looters to the 330, but they managed to run away on their motorcycles.

Eventually the blue circle fell upon us again, and we left.

A few hundred meters into the forest, we were sieged with gunfire from up the hill. I almost died! Taking cover behind a tree, my friend managed to heal me up before I died. You should have heard me scream, by the way. I saw the silhouette of the player who had shot me running up the hill. Doubled back nearer to the circle.

We held on there right after the 13 mark, and were getting shot at from both sides. To my demise, I only cared about the enemies shooting at me from a certain direction, which is why I got shot from the back, and subsequently died.

Today’s Deaths, and how I could have prevented them.

  1. I got killed while lurking inside a house because I didn’t reload first. I should load my weapon immediately.
  2. I did not wait for my vehicle to stop moving before I exited. I died immediately. Next time, I should really learn to stop.
  3. I died because I wasn’t aware that there were enemies behind me. I should take cover immediately in those situations.
