This is a Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Article on what to do in a red zone. Red zones are best avoided, but when you are there you might as well take measures.
What is a Red Zone?
The game world in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is rife with peril from all sides of the map. From the outermost parts of Erangel, a massive wall of blue electricity closes in to eventually slowly consume you. Meanwhile, desperate players seek to find the best loot, or hunt you down for sport to make sure they’ll be the ones to win that chicken dinner.
And as if this wasn’t enough, you will have to face the Red Zones.
Red zones are a menace if you manage to end up in one. Randomly, and at any time when the red zone is running, artillery shells start to rain from the sky, causing random explosions anywhere and sometimes everywhere in the immediate vicinity. One hit from the Red Zone can kill an unwitting player.
What do I do in a Red Zone?
These zones are sometimes very unavoidable. These zones, like everything in Battlegrounds can be used to your advantage to win that ever-fleeting Chicken dinner.
Surviving a Red Zone
- If you can’t avoid a zone, make sure to take cover in buildings. Buildings can shelter you from the random explosions.
- Your cars will be destroyed in a red zone unless you shelter it under a building with an open garage.
- You can try you luck at escaping the red zone if you’re very near the edge of the circle.
Battles in a Red Zone
- If you are in an intense fire fight in a zone, the constant barrage of explosions will be helpful in your endeavor to kill your enemy. Try getting flanked by your opponent once the bombing begins, as the noise will often times muffle your own footsteps.
- In squad runs, you can also try taking a small neighborhood in a zone and taking out enemies who are rushing in to your building for cover. By denying them entry with gun fire you can utilize the explosions to take them out yourself (although you might not get BP for that).
